TIGER AIRWAYS continued its rapid growth in June with 500,000 passengers in a month for the first time and a total of more than five million passengers in the year to June 30.

The airline says 5.3 million passengers chose Tiger Airways from July 2009 to June 2010, 52% more than previous 12 months and 85% of seats were filled from July 2009 to June 2010, compared to 80% in previous 12 months.

The 508,000 passengers in June 2010 was 39% more than June 2009. Load factor (average percentage of seats filled) for the month was 86%.

Tiger Airways Holdings Limited will release its financial results for the first quarter of the current financial year – the quarter ended June 30, 2010 – on August 5.
