Firms face fines over fibs MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2010 IT'S NOW more than eight months since the Australian Government introduced changes to its Trade Practices Act banning deceitful pricing of all consumer products, including travel. But some companies still appear to be risking large fines by continuing the now illegal practice of "asterisking" compulsory charges to make products appear cheaper than they really are.
